Types of Aircons for Private Apartments & Commercial
General Information
This is the most common type used in residential buildings such as HDB apartments. The units are long, thin and placed at a high level on the wall.
Advantages
- Cheapest option to install
- Easy to retrofit into rooms without the need to build works or redecorate
- Exceptionally quiet
Single Wall Unit
- A single wall unit will usually be able to cool most rooms
- Larger rooms may sometimes need an additional unit
- Although premium wall-mounted air conditioning units (e.g. the Green Moda, Daikin Emura and Mitsubishi Zen units) are a bit more expensive, they are superb looking units
Multi Room Air-conditioning System
- Created by connecting up to five indoor units to a single outdoor unit
- The series includes a wide variety of indoor unit, so it is easy to select a model that is suitable for your room size
- The individual indoor unit in different rooms can be controlled independently to match your family lifestyle

Ceiling Cassette type air-conditioners are usually installed in the middle of the area with four standing rods. They are primarily intended for commercial use but can also be used in private apartments.

- Large capacity – suitable for places with bigger areas, where the air will be evenly spread out in all 4 directions across the location

- Costs more than wall mounted units

These are best fitted as part of a building project as they require a ceiling void to house both the ducting and the air conditioning unit itself.
