Aircon Installation for Residential Homes
Fixing air-conditioners is a norm in many homes. They keep you comfortable throughout the day and help significantly in providing a good night’s sleep. The home air-conditioning units we install are energy efficient and whisper-quiet.
When selecting an air-conditioner, there are many factors to take into consideration:
- Dimension & layout of your room / house
- Number of rooms to be fitted with air-conditioning
- How the aircon can aesthetically fit into the design of your home
- Type & cost of air-conditioning
Manufacturers have worked hard to create a wide array of models and systems that look aesthetically pleasing in the home. Some units seem virtually invisible in a room.

Types of Aircons for Residential Homes
General Information
This is the most common type used in residential buildings such as HDB apartments. The units are long, thin and placed at a high level on the wall.
Advantages
- Cheapest option to install
- Easy to retrofit into rooms without the need to build works or redecorate
- Exceptionally quiet
Single Wall Unit
- A single wall unit will usually be able to cool most rooms
- Larger rooms may sometimes need an additional unit
- Although premium wall-mounted air conditioning units (e.g. the Green Moda, Daikin Emura and Mitsubishi Zen units) are a bit more expensive, they are superb looking units
Multi Room Air-conditioning System
- Created by connecting up to five indoor units to a single outdoor unit
- The series includes a wide variety of indoor unit, so it is easy to select a model that is suitable for your room size
- The individual indoor unit in different rooms can be controlled independently to match your family lifestyle

General Information
The ductwork and cooling unit(s) are hidden within a false ceiling or loft space, so all that you see is a small neat grille in the ceiling. There are various grille designs available which suit different shapes and sizes of room.
These are best fitted as part of a building project as they require a ceiling void to house both the ducting and the air conditioning unit itself.
Advantages
- Most aesthetically pleasing solution
- Can cool multiple rooms
Disadvantages
- Costly
- Cannot have individual room control (excluding multiple ducted systems)
